Who we are

- Aldo D'Oria
(The owner)

In 1986, having travelled and worked in Italy, Switzerland, France and Germany, thanks to a fast moving career, which culminated, at only twenty-four years of age in becoming maitre “D”, responsible for the “Curzon Restaurant” of the “Grand Hotel du Parc” at Villars-sur-Ollon in Switzerland. He then took over from his uncle the “Trattoria La Scalore” which was a very traditional restaurant, where up until 1930, one could enjoy the very typical dishes of Sorrento accompanied by a good local wine. After changing the name to “L’Antica Trattoria” Aldo D’oria began his task following the same lines as his uncle (who in his turn had inherited the restaurant from his grandparents).
A difficult path to follow, and only possible if worked with dedication and love, holding always as his principal objective the desire to content his guests from the moment they enter, and for the whole of their visit.

Staff

- The waiters

Those who make up the table staff are highly professional. They are an integral part of “L’Antica Trattoria” all working with affection and dedication, some being with the team for ten years.
With attention to detail, and personal care of their guests, they continue the aim of “L’Antica Trattoria” to provide the maximum in pleasure, leaving a delightful memory and a determination to return.

- The kitchen staff

Like the others, those in the kitchen are also an integral part of “L’Antica Trattoria”. Mostly they are young, with new ideas, and who delight you with their imaginative dishes light and sumptuous.
They conjure culinary magic for those who come to spend a relaxing hour or two at table.

All this is enhanced by the lilting playing of our virtuoso mandolinist Vincenzo.

All the dishes are played under the strict supervision of the head chef who will say the following:

“The flame is the tool to sculpt the dish. Cooking is a marriage of sensibility of the chef and the power of the flame”.

The preparation of the dishes is dependant on the highest quality products in season, each and everyone selected to delight your palate.
